Day 1 - GRIT

“Courage and resolve; strength of character.”

Girls will explore awareness and situational understanding—both in-person and online.

They'll learn how predators select victims and how to carry themselves with confidence. Girls will begin learning practical self-defense techniques such as how to break grips and escape from common holds. Through fun challenges and teamwork, they’ll explore the power of perseverance and grit.

Techniques: Combat Base, Wrist Escapes, Posture and Presence.

Day 2 - integrity

“Being honest and upholding strong moral principles.”
A deep dive into peer pressure and physical boundaries.
Campers will practice using their voice and standing firm in their convictions.Campers will learn situational awareness and the importance of posture, presence, and voice. Basic Jiu-Jitsu positions will be introduced, alongside boundary-setting exercises that help girls practice saying “no” with confidence.
Techniques: Stop-Block-Frame, Punch Protection.

Day 3 - respect

“Due regard for the rights and feelings of others—and yourself.”
Campers will internalize that they are worth defending and learn
age-appropriate verbal strategies for conflict. Campers will role-play real-life scenarios where they practice using assertive language, tone, and body language to deter potential threats. Respect for themselves and others is emphasized through interactive discussions and partner drills.

Techniques: Verbal Jiu-Jitsu, Trap & Roll.

Day 4 - leverage

“Using skill and strategy over size and strength.”
Campers will uncover how manipulation works—recognizing gaslighting, tricky people, and conversational traps. Girls will discover how leverage and technique can neutralize a larger opponent.

Jiu-Jitsu concepts such as base, distance management, and timing are broken down in an easy-to-understand way, reinforcing that physical strength is not required to be effective.
Techniques: Drag Defenses, Hair Grab to Standing Armlock.

Day 5 - celebration

“Victory is survival.”
The final day focuses on resilience, recovery, and the mental strength to move forward. Campers will learn about reporting, negotiation, and managing the aftermath of a confrontation. This day is a celebration of what they’ve learned—campers will run through realistic self-defense scenarios, review all techniques, and reflect on the core values. The week ends with a special “Fight Like A Girl” graduation ceremony for campers.

Techniques: Armlock from Guard
